Important information on the DVD+R format.
While DVD is fast becoming the standard for home video, a standard DVD format is not quite as straight forward. This is because manufacturers of DVD writers are trying to make their equipment proprietary. The result is that there are two different forms of DVDs that can be produced by companies like mine. A little bit like the old VHS v Betamax battle back in the late 70's early 80's.
We do everything in house and have invested in a DVD duplicator with Sony DVD+RW Drives - everything is top of the line. We do not use labels and stompers that could potentially come off in your DVD player and damage it or cause the DVD to spin incorrectly. We do all of the duplicating ourselves and we have around 40 copies of each DVD pre-made. You have NEVER heard us say one of our VHS videos was out of stock because we always keep our stock up and do everything in house. We feel it is the only way to ensure things are done right.
The DVD+R/RW format is the most compatible with the majority of DVD players on the market. This format uses VOB files and was designed from the ground up so as to be more compatible. The DVD-RW/R format however is a cost cutting rehash of the older DVD Ram drive system, which was designed for PC's and data storage, and as a consequence is not as compatible with as large a number of retail players as DVD+R/RW is.
We chose the DVD+R/RW format as it is compatible with more retail players out there. To understand better what all of the above means and see the difference in compatability see this link http://www.dvdplusrw.org.
I hope this has helped you understand the whys and wherefores of DVD, and why we took the DVD+R route.
In the event of a compatability problem and your DVD does not play, just return it to us for restocking, and we will send you a VHS replacement.
